IFPO

The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) was established as a non-profit organization in January 1988 for the purpose of facilitating the training and certification needs of protection officers and security supervisors/managers from both the commercial and proprietary sectors.

To meet this objective, the IFPO developed a number of comprehensive distance delivery styled courses;the Certified Protection Officer (CPO) program and the Certified In Security Supervision And Management (CSSM) program. All programs are designed to be completed through a self paced schedule of home study.

The above CPO training is introduced as a start in Europe. Later in 2006 IFPO Europe will organize review sessions, coaching and exam training for the Certified in Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) designation through Security College. The European chapter of the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) was officially established as a non-profit organization in february 2006.

The goals of IFPO Europe are to act as the chapter for Europe and at a later stage to explore ways to organize individual chapters throughout Europe.
